Our great friend and 4th member of the Zack King Band passed away in 2022. Since the beginning of the band Jim acted as our sound/lighting engineer, equipment tech, construction specialist, driver and most importantly band therapist. To honor his involvement not only in the band but in his community (which included Dove Elementary in the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District as well as his involvement with the City of Grapevine, TX) the band is setting up a scholarship for GCISD students in his name!

The Jim Ormsby Memorial Scholarship is a financial need-based scholarship which will be given annually to a graduating GCISD student who had attended Dove Elementary and is pursuing further education in Music or Trade/Technical training.  This scholarship honors Jim’s connection with the band, to the work he did for the school district and city of Grapevine as well as his own career as a contractor.

Jim was Legendary For Giving To Our Community…

Now We Can Give Back A Little And Be A Part Of His Legacy!

With the help of the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation the band is beginning to fund an endowment for the Jim Ormsby Memorial Scholarship so that former Dove students can receive these scholarships in perpetuity…long after the Zack King Band has performed its final song (many, many years from now).

We’re asking for your help to reach our $10,000 endowment goal!!  Until then the band will fund the scholarship.  But once we hit the goal the scholarship can fund itself forever!!!

Every Little Bit Helps!
